Jenness State Beach is a great family location with an Atlantic ocean-front setting - its sandy beach is ideal for swimming and picnicking. Amenities at the beach include a bathhouse. Metered parking is available for 67 cars. Pay Stations that are located at State Beaches accept cash and coins as well as credit and debit cards. Prior to visiting the NH seacoast, familiarize yourself with the Seacoast Beach information as well as Seacoast Beach parking options.
Note the following about the Jenness State Beach Redevelopment Project:
There is a schedule change and the parking lot will be open for public use until Sunday 9/16. The bathhouse closed this past Sunday and portable toilets have been installed on site.
- The entire parking lot will be closed to all public Monday 9/17 and Tuesday 9/18 for restriping and construction fence installation.
- Parking in the parking lot will be restricted to persons with disabilities and a handicapped placard or license plate is required; access will be from the north end of the lot.
- There will be no drop-off or pick-up on site, visitors to the beach should find a parking space and walk to the beach.
- Parking lot will be closed to the public after Columbus Day

Jenness State Beach opens full-time for the season on April 1 and closes October 31. Metered Parking hours are from 8:00 am to midnight. The bathhouse at Jenness State Beach is open from April 1st through October 31st.
Lifeguards are on duty from May 26th through August 19th. Lifeguard hours are 10 am to 4:45 pm daily.

This park is always open for recreation unless closed or restricted by posting. During off hours and the off-season the park is typically not staffed and comfort stations are not available and gates may be closed. The off-season poses unique risks inherent when participating in outdoor recreational activities. Please be aware that many State Park areas and trails are not staffed during the off-season, and day-use fees are not collected. Recreationists should possess the necessary knowledge, skill, and equipment to ensure their own safety. Users assume all risk while recreating in State Park lands.
Visiting With Your Pet
Pets are not allowed on the beach from May 1 to September 30. Pets are allowed on the beach from October 1 to April 30. All animals must be on a standard or rectractable leash not greater than 6 feet in length. Animal owners shall clean up any waste eliminated by their animals and place it in a trash can or remove it off-site. See our Visiting With Pets webpage for more information.
